Greetings billiard enthusiasts! We are thrilled to bring you a recap of the thrilling 5th Night Cafe 3 Cushion Billiard Tournament that took place on July 8, 2023, in Heilbronn. The event showcased exceptional skills, intense competition, and a heartwarming farewell to one of the participants. Here are the highlights:

The tournament was ultimately claimed by Klaus Keßler, representing ESG Karlsruhe. In a captivating final, Keßler emerged victorious with a convincing score of 30:20 in 30 innings, defeating Muhammet Tekin from Heilbronn. Keßler's stellar performance showcased his prowess and cemented his well-deserved title.

The third-place position was secured by Ilhan Simsek from Stuttgart, who faced off against Ismail Inal in the "small final." Simsek exhibited remarkable skill and determination, ultimately prevailing to claim the third spot on the podium.


Interestingly, the tournament winner, Keßler, had suffered a defeat in the group phase at the hands of Mehmet Yöndem. This loss, however, did not deter Keßler from bouncing back and ultimately claiming the tournament crown. Yöndem's victory over Keßler added an intriguing twist to the competition.

For Mehmet Yöndem, the tournament held a special significance as it served as a farewell event. Having spent the last five years in Germany, Yöndem and his wife have made the difficult decision to return to their home country, Turkey, to reunite with their children and family. Although bidding farewell to the billiard community in Germany, Yöndem expressed his gratitude and appreciation, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable skill and sportsmanship.

A thrilling day of cue action unfolded at BSC Karlsruhe on March 23rd, as ten talented players took to the felt in a gripping Night Cafe 3-cushion tournament.
